Welcome to the Centre for Developmental Neuropsychology
The directors of the Centre for Developmental Neuropsychology are Dr. Jane Hood and Dr. Peter Rankin.
Dr. Jane Hood works primarily in medico-legal practice providing specialist assessment and rehabilitative advice for children with (i) neurological disorders such as epilepsy, traumatic brain injury and hypoxia, (ii) neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, Asperger syndrome, specific language impairment and ADHD, and (iii) neuropsychiatric disorders such as OCD, Tourette syndrome and conduct problems. Dr Hood is also a leading national figure for the development of neuropsychological practice within the field of Educational Psychology. Until recently Dr Hood worked as a Consultant Paediatric Neuropsychologist for 10 years where she led a team of psychologists within the National Specialist Neurodevelopmental Service, Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals. Dr Hood is also an Honorary Lecturer at the Research Department of Clinical, Educational and Health Psychology, University College London.
Dr. Peter Rankin works as a Consultant Paediatric Neuropsychologist at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Trust and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Child Health, University College London (UCL). Dr. Rankin also directs the professional MSc degree course at UCL which provides UK clinical and educational psychologists with the scientific knowledge required to qualify as clinical paediatric neuropsychologists with the British Psychological Society. Dr Rankin is also directing the 2nd UK Paediatric Neuropsychology Symposium: Rehabiliation and Educational Support.
The centre provides neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation for medico-legal and private referrals and also runs a memory clinic for children with memory disorders.
Assessments are available within Fulham, central London. Home assessments may also be arranged when appropriate. Interventions are delivered locally as appropriate for the client
